The Special Carrier Makes Headlines

One of The Special Carrier's very own experienced drivers has made a guest appearance on the BBC news this month, as he was asked to test out the new Operation Stack M20 relief scheme.

With the current cross-Channel disruption, the relief scheme is being put in place in order to attempt to reduce the queuing hours that lorry drivers have to contend with. The disused Manston Airport is at the centre of the contingency plan, being utilised as a place to hold freight in order to alleviate the congestion on the M20.

Simon Ferrar, our driver, tested out the route for BBC South East Today in order to offer his expert opinion on the matter. The route saw Simon being diverted to Detling Hill, then on to Manston and lastly on the A256 to Dover. In total, the diversion is around 50 miles.

Being fully up to date with any changes to traffic control or roadworks, particularly at the Dover border, is hugely important to our team as it allows us to assess the quickest and most efficient methods of transporting our clients' deliveries.

Despite the current disruptions in Dover, The Special Carrier team is able to offer swift delivery of your consignments. Whether you need to place a last-minute order for a delivery of high-risk goods to Berlin, or you need sensitive hazardous chemicals to arrive safely in Luxembourg, our team is fully equipped to help.
